A Matlab-based computational model line code has been developed for predicting the performance of fluid-powered longitudinal piston modules and motors. A system of equations has been developed based upon applying the conservation of mass to a control volume defined by a reciprocating piston. The method results in a differential equation that predicts the pressure gradient in the control volume as a function of rotor rotation angle. The model uses an integration scheme to predict the pressure state in the control volume. The orifice equation is used to predict the flowrate in and out of the control volume. AniMACCS is an animation software used in conjunction with MELCOR Accident Consequence Code System (MACCS), which is responsible for estimating the offsite consequences of potential severe accidents at nuclear power plants (NPPs) and of atmospheric releases of radioactive aerosols and gases from other nuclear facilities. MACCS is used to perform probabilistic health and economic consequence assessment of hypothetical releases of radioactive material. AniMACCS utilizes the MACCS output files to generate visual and geographical depictions of the accident consequences. TINES is an open source software providing math infrastructure for solving many stiff time ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and/or differential algebraic equations (DAEs) using a batch hierarchical parallelism. The code is written using a parallel programming model (i.e., Kokkos) to future-proof the next generation parallel computing platforms such as GPU accelerators. SAND2021-3180 O The hydro-hifem 1.0 software is used to simulate transient physical processes in large geologic environments consisting of complex fractures and man-made infrastructures with affordable computational cost and mesh refinement. The Earth models with such complex model features can be designed by considering the reduction of insignificant dimensions of fractures/infrastructures and embracing their corresponding hierarchical material properties, and their computational meshes are generated by using Cubit. The finite element solutions are automatically distributed across nodes of parallel cluster for efficient computation of transient fluid flow or heat conduction in geologic media. Character Memory provides visual and acoustic sensing capabilities for characters within the Umbra simulation framework. Character Memory tracks where the character has seen and heard things, and then classifies them based on what they were and what their affiliation might be. The package provides outputs that can drive behaviors in response to those detections. SAND2021-4824 O mapdfn.py takes the output of dfnWorks describing a discrete fracture network (DFN) and converts the DFN to an equivalent porous medium representation. This is done by looping through cells in a 3-D model domain, tagging those intersected by fractures, and calculating effective properties. Coordinate transformations are imported from an open source script (transformations.py) developed at the University of California. An associated driver script, mapdfn2pflotran.py, calls the functions in mapdfn.py and writes the mapdfn.py output to hdf5 files for use with PFLOTRAN. The MAPIT - Material Accountancy Performance Indicator Toolkit includes statistical tests and calculations based on open literature that calculate safeguards metrics. The Multi-scenario Extreme Weather Simulator (MEWS) takes existing historical weather data and inserts trends and extreme events such as heat waves, hurricanes, extreme precipitation, or winter storms. The code includes functionality for projecting increasing frequency and duration of such events over a large range of statistically sampled realizations of the future. These weather files can then be used in building energy simulations through the Energy Plus software created by DOE. Candidate microgrid configurations are evaluated using a burden metric, a measure of the relative effort community members must expend to acquire services required for their well-being. Results present multiple candidate configurations, each with a different balance of cost and burden.
