Ratio matching of half-bridge weldable strain gages, computer program

Computer program reduces the unbalance of weldable half-bridge strain gage installations. The program calculates the two resistance ratios of each half-bridge gage, outputting a table of gages ranked according to resistance ratio. The tabulation forms a convenient record of gage characteristics.

The simulator to match the transports to come.

Flight simulator with large lateral motion for large and supersonic transport aircraft, emphasizing reproduction of cockpit accelerations due to supersonic engine thrust loss

Constant current load matches impedances of electronic components

Constant current load with negative resistance characteristics actively compensates for impedance variations in circuit components. Through a current-voltage balancing operation the internal impedance of the diodes is maintained at a constant value. This constant current load circuit can be used in simple telemetry systems.

Data-matched filter

After amplification and normalization, incoming data bits are fed, alternately, to pair of integrators. While one integrator is operating, content of other is on hold, sample, and dump. Clock derived in bit-timing extractor times and controls integrators. Frequency of clock is one-half data rate.

The calculation of efficient high precision orbits by optimum matching of the formulation and numerical integrator

The development of improved computer algorithms is considered for calculating earth satellite orbital trajectories by optimum selection of the analytical method that minimizes the number of perturbative acceleration computations for a given accuracy. A variation of parameter algorithm considering the equation of motion for a satellite proved superior for the geosynchronous orbit.

Third harmonic generation in phase-matched alkali metal vapors

We report improvements in conversion efficiency for third harmonic generation in sodium and rubidium vapor. 30-psec pulses of radiation at 1.064 micron have been converted to 0.3547 micron with an energy conversion efficiency of 10%. Factors limiting conversion efficiency are discussed.

Match-mold process for foam insulation

Process, using fast-setting putty-type thixotropic epoxy material, eliminates need for leakproof enclosures. Method reduces cure time from 15 to 4 hours. Epoxy masters are stronger and do not require special coating for storage. Manufacturers of form-fitted insulation or packaging forms will find this process to be of interest.

Inlet-engine matching for SCAR including application of a bicone variable geometry inlet

Airflow characteristics of variable cycle engines (VCE) designed for Mach 2.32 can have transonic airflow requirements as high as 1.6 times the cruise airflow. This is a formidable requirement for conventional, high performance, axisymmetric, translating centerbody mixed compression inlets. An alternate inlet is defined, where the second cone of a two cone center body collapses to the initial cone angle to provide a large off-design airflow capability, and incorporates modest centerbody translation to minimize spillage drag. Estimates of transonic spillage drag are competitive with those of conventional translating centerbody inlets. The inlet's cruise performance exhibits very low bleed requirements with good recovery and high angle of attack capability.
