Stoichiometric gas turbines - Development problems.

Abstract

Detroit Diesel Allison has been active in demonstrating the feasibility of stoichiometric gas turbine engines for many years. Results of this program are presented with emphasis placed on areas requiring additional development work. Cooling air usage, the effect of cooling air on turbine efficiency, fabrication (materials) methods, and control (instrumentation) techniques are the areas discussed and illustrated. Lamilloy, a pseudo-transpiring material developed by Allison, is discussed in detail.
