Two-loop HTL-resummed thermodynamics for $\mathcal{N}$ = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory

We compute the two-loop hard-thermal-loop (HTL) resummed thermodynamic potential for \( \mathcal{N} \) = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM). Our final result is manifestly gauge-invariant and was renormalized using only simple vacuum energy, gluon mass, scalar mass, and quark mass counter terms. The HTL mass parameters m D , M D , and m q are then determined self-consistently using a variational prescription which results in a set of coupled gap equations. Based on this, we obtain the two-loop HTL-resummed thermodynamic functions of \( \mathcal{N} \) = 4 SYM. We compare our final result with known results obtained in the weak- and strong-coupling limits. We also compare to previously obtained approximately self-consistent HTL resummations and Padé approximants. We find that the two-loop HTL resummed results for the scaled entropy density is a quantitatively reliable approximation to the scaled entropy density for 0 ≤ λ ≲ 2 and is in agreement with previous approximately self-consistent HTL resummation results for λ ≲ 6.

Resummed predictions for jet-resolution scales in multijet production in e$^{+}$e$^{−}$ annihilation

We present for the first time resummed predictions at NLO + NLL′ accuracy for the Durham jet-resolution scales y$_{n,n+1}$ in multijet production in e$^{+}$e$^{−}$ collisions. Results are obtained using an implementation of the well known Caesar formalism within the Sherpa framework. For the 4-, 5- and 6-jet resolutions we discuss in particular the impact of subleading colour contributions and compare to matrix-element plus parton-shower predictions from Sherpa and Vincia.

Resume of air-load data on slats and flaps

A resume of the generally available test data regarding air loads on slats and flaps is presented and data attained up to the fall of 1938 are included. The data are given in the form of N.A.C.A. standard coefficients of air forces and moments on the lift-increasing device and, when available, the aerodynamic characteristics of the combined wing and high-lift device are included. Slats of the Handley Page type, fixed auxiliary airfoils, and flaps of several different types are covered.

Resummed Relativistic Dissipative Hydrodynamics

In this review, we present the motivation for using relativistic anisotropic hydrodynamics to study the physics of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. We then highlight the main ingredients of the 3+1D quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics model including the underlying symmetry assumptions and present phenomenological comparisons with experimental data at different collision energies. These comparisons show that anisotropic hydrodynamics can describe many bulk observables of the quark-gluon plasma.

Searching for the QCD Critical Point Along the Pseudo-critical/Freeze-out Line Using Padé-resummed Taylor Expansions of Cumulants of Conserved Charge Fluctuations

Using high-statistics datasets generated in (2+1)-flavor QCD calculations at finite temperature we construct estimators for the radius of convergence from an eighth order series expansion of the pressure as well as the number density. We show that the estimator for pressure and number density will be identical in the asymptotic limit. In the vicinity of the pseudo-critical temperature, T pc ≃ 156.5 MeV, we find the estimator of the radius of convergence to be µ B /T ≳ 3 for strangeness-neutral matter. We also present results for the pole structure of the Pad´e approximants for the pressure at non-zero values of the baryon chemical potential and show that the pole structure of the [4,4] Pad´e is consistent with not having a critical point at temperatures larger than 135 MeV and a baryon chemical potential smaller than µ B /T ~ 2.5.
