Materials Data on ZnCN2 by Materials Project
ZnCN2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I-42d space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zn2+ is bonded to four equivalent N3- atoms to form corner-sharing ZnN4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.01 Å) and two longer (2.06 Å) Zn–N bond lengths. C4+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent N3- atoms. Both C–N bond lengths are 1.23 Å. N3- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to two equivalent Zn2+ and one C4+ atom.
