Materials Data on Yb3Ag2 by Materials Project
Yb3Ag2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mbm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Yb sites. In the first Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ag atoms. There are four shorter (3.18 Å) and two longer (3.19 Å) Yb–Ag bond lengths. In the second Yb site, Yb is bonded in a square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Ag atoms. All Yb–Ag bond lengths are 3.22 Å. Ag is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to eight Yb and one Ag atom. The Ag–Ag bond length is 3.00 Å.
