Materials Data on VAu4 by Materials Project
VAu4 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. V4+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Au1- atoms to form a mixture of face and edge-sharing VAu12 cuboctahedra. There are eight shorter (2.88 Å) and four longer (2.91 Å) V–Au bond lengths. Au1- is bonded to three equivalent V4+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing AuV3 cuboctahedra.
