Materials Data on VAu3 by Materials Project
VAu3 is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. V3+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Au1- atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing VAu12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (2.88 Å) and six longer (2.93 Å) V–Au bond lengths. Au1- is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent V3+ atoms.
