Materials Data on TmMgSn by Materials Project
MgTmSn crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Sn atoms. All Mg–Sn bond lengths are 3.07 Å. Tm is bonded to five equivalent Sn atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TmSn5 square pyramids. There are one shorter (3.08 Å) and four longer (3.13 Å) Tm–Sn bond lengths. Sn is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Mg and five equivalent Tm atoms.
