Materials Data on Sr2(BO2)11 by Materials Project

Sr2(BO2)11 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two Sr2(BO2)11 sheets oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. there are two inequivalent Sr sites. In the first Sr site, Sr is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten O atoms. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.56–2.97 Å. In the second Sr site, Sr is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to eleven O atoms. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.59–2.95 Å. There are eleven inequivalent B sites. In the first B site, B is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O atoms. There is two shorter (1.37 Å) and one longer (1.39 Å) B–O bond length. In the second B site, B is bonded to four O atoms to form corner-sharing BO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.47–1.50 Å. In the third B site, B is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O atoms. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.36–1.41 Å. In the fourth B site, B is bonded to four O atoms to form corner-sharing BO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.45–1.51 Å.
