Materials Data on Sn3S by Materials Project
Sn3S is alpha bismuth trifluoride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Sn sites. In the first Sn site, Sn is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Sn and four equivalent S atoms. All Sn–Sn bond lengths are 3.17 Å. All Sn–S bond lengths are 3.17 Å. In the second Sn site, Sn is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Sn atoms. S is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Sn atoms.
