Materials Data on Sn3Au by Materials Project
AuSn3 is beta Cu3Ti-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Au is bonded to twelve equivalent Sn atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing AuSn12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.22 Å) and six longer (3.33 Å) Au–Sn bond lengths. Sn is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Au atoms.
