Materials Data on Pb3N2 by Materials Project
Pb3N2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two Pb3N2 sheets oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. there are two inequivalent Pb2+ sites. In the first Pb2+ site, Pb2+ is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to three equivalent N3- atoms. There are two shorter (2.33 Å) and one longer (2.35 Å) Pb–N bond lengths. In the second Pb2+ site, Pb2+ is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent N3- atoms. Both Pb–N bond lengths are 2.23 Å. N3- is bonded to four Pb2+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing NPb4 tetrahedra.
