Characterization of Si3N4/SiO2 optical channel waveguides by photon scanning tunneling microscopy

Photon scanning tunneling microscopy (PSTM) is used to characterize Si3N4/Si02 optical channel waveguides being used for integrated optical-micromechanical sensors. PSTM utilizes an optical fiber tapered to a fine point which is piezoelectrically positioned to measure the decay of the evanescent field intensity associated with the waveguide propagating mode. Evanescent field decays are recorded for both ridge channel waveguides and planar waveguide regions. Values for the local effective refractive index are calculated from the data for both polarizations and compared to model calculations.

Utah FORGE: Seismic Reflection Data

This is 2D and 3D seismic reflection data from Utah FORGE reprocessed during Phase 2c. The readme file containing an explanation of the data including data formats, software that can be used, processing, and projection and datum used. The Reprocessing document gives the rationale for reprocessing and shows examples of the improvements that were obtained. For all 3D and 2D data the following datasets were created and output in SEG-Y format: - Unmigrated Time - Prestack Time Migration (PSTM), Unenhanced (UnEnh) and Enhanced (Enh) - Prestack Depth Migration (PSDM), Unenhanced (UnEnh) and Enhanced (Enh) - Velocity Model used for Migration

Information Content of the Near-Field I: Two-Dimensional Samples

Limits on the effective resolution of many optical near-field experiments are investigated. The results are applicable to variants of total-internal-reflection microscopy (TIRM), photon-scanning-tunneling microscopy (PSTM), and near-field-scanning-optical microscopy (NSOM) in which the sample is weakly scattering and the direction of illumination may be controlled. Analytical expressions for the variance of the estimate of the complex susceptibility of an unknown two-dimensional object as a function of spatial frequency are obtained for Gaussian and Poisson noise models, and a model-independent measure is examined. The results are used to explore the transition from near-zone to far-zone detection. It is demonstrated that the information content of the measurements made at a distance of even one wavelength away from the sample is already not much different from the information content of the far field. Utah FORGE: GPS Data - Deformation Monitoring

This data bundle contains raw GPS data files and resulting data using Trimble Business Center and NOAA OPUS to process the GPS data in spreadsheets with station coordinates and elevations. A map of station locations is included along with the final processing report which includes pre-processing, pre-stack time migration, and pre-stack depth migration. It also contains a readme.text file goes into further explanation.
