Materials Data on SmVO4 by Materials Project

SmVO4 is Zircon structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent O2- atoms. There are four shorter (2.39 Å) and four longer (2.50 Å) Sm–O bond lengths. V5+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four equivalent O2- atoms. All V–O bond lengths are 1.74 Å. O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Sm3+ and one V5+ atom.

Materials Data on Sm2V2O7 by Materials Project

Sm2V2O7 crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Sm3+ sites. In the first Sm3+ site, Sm3+ is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.32–2.86 Å. In the second Sm3+ site, Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.36–2.74 Å. In the third Sm3+ site, Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.35–2.84 Å. In the fourth Sm3+ site, Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.31–2.65 Å. There are four inequivalent V4+ sites. In the first V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to five O2- atoms to form distorted corner-sharing VO5 trigonal bipyramids. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 1.77–2.29 Å. In the second V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to five O2- atoms to form distorted corner-sharing VO5 trigonal bipyramids. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 1.78–2.29 Å. In the third V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing VO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 1.78–1.85 Å. In the fourth V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing VO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 1.80–1.85 Å. There are fourteen inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Sm3+ and one V4+ atom to form distorted edge-sharing OSm3V tetrahedra. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to one Sm3+ and two V4+ atoms. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to three Sm3+ and two V4+ atoms. In the sixth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the seventh O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the eighth O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Sm3+ and one V4+ atom to form distorted edge-sharing OSm3V tetrahedra. In the ninth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the tenth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to two Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the eleventh O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to three Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the twelfth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to one Sm3+ and two V4+ atoms. In the thirteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to three Sm3+ and one V4+ atom. In the fourteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to two Sm3+ and two V4+ atoms.

Materials Data on Sm2V2O5 by Materials Project

Sm2V2O5 is Aluminum carbonitride-like structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Ima2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.31–2.50 Å. There are two inequivalent V2+ sites. In the first V2+ site, V2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form VO6 octahedra that share corners with four equivalent VO6 octahedra and corners with two equivalent VO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 29°. There are four shorter (2.06 Å) and two longer (2.19 Å) V–O bond lengths. In the second V2+ site, V2+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form VO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent VO6 octahedra and corners with two equivalent VO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 43°. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 2.05–2.18 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Sm3+ and two equivalent V2+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Sm3+ and two V2+ atoms. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to two equivalent Sm3+ and two equivalent V2+ atoms to form corner-sharing OSm2V2 tetrahedra.

Materials Data on SmVO3 by Materials Project

SmVO3 is Orthorhombic Perovskite structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–O bond distances ranging from 2.33–2.74 Å. There are two inequivalent V3+ sites. In the first V3+ site, V3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form corner-sharing VO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 33–35°. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 2.01–2.11 Å. In the second V3+ site, V3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form corner-sharing VO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 33–35°. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 2.02–2.09 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sm3+ and two equivalent V3+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sm3+ and two equivalent V3+ atoms. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to two equivalent Sm3+ and two V3+ atoms to form distorted corner-sharing OSm2V2 tetrahedra.

Materials Data on SmVO4 by Materials Project

SmVO4 is Zircon-like structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/a space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent O2- atoms. There are four shorter (2.43 Å) and four longer (2.46 Å) Sm–O bond lengths. V5+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four equivalent O2- atoms. All V–O bond lengths are 1.76 Å. O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Sm3+ and one V5+ atom.

Materials Data on SmV2O2 by Materials Project

SmV2O2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent O atoms. Both Sm–O bond lengths are 2.24 Å. V is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to three equivalent O atoms. There are one shorter (2.04 Å) and two longer (2.31 Å) V–O bond lengths. O is bonded in a distorted rectangular see-saw-like geometry to one Sm and three equivalent V atoms.
