Materials Data on SnP2O7 by Materials Project

SnP2O7 crystallizes in the cubic Pa-3 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sn4+ is bonded to six equivalent O2- atoms to form SnO6 octahedra that share corners with six equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. All Sn–O bond lengths are 2.03 Å. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with three equivalent SnO6 octahedra and a cornercorner with one PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 18°. There is three shorter (1.52 Å) and one longer (1.59 Å) P–O bond length. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn4+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent P5+ atoms.

Materials Data on Sn(PO3)4 by Materials Project

Sn(PO3)4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbcn space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sn4+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form SnO6 octahedra that share corners with six PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.02–2.09 Å. There are two inequivalent P5+ sites. In the first P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one SnO6 octahedra and corners with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 41°. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.46–1.65 Å. In the second P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent SnO6 octahedra and corners with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 45–46°. There is two shorter (1.52 Å) and two longer (1.58 Å) P–O bond length. There are six inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn4+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Sn4+ and one P5+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one P5+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn4+ and one P5+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two P5+ atoms. Sn3+ is bonded to seven O2- atoms to form distorted SnO7 pentagonal bipyramids that share corners with seven PO4 tetrahedra and an edgeedge with one SnO7 pentagonal bipyramid. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.24–2.60 Å. There are three inequivalent P5+ sites. In the first P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent SnO7 pentagonal bipyramids and corners with two PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.50–1.63 Å. In the second P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent SnO7 pentagonal bipyramids and corners with two PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.51–1.62 Å. In the first Sn+2.50+ site, Sn+2.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form distorted SnO6 square pyramids that share corners with six PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.16–2.75 Å. In the second Sn+2.50+ site, Sn+2.50+ is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to three O2- atoms. There are one shorter (2.22 Å) and two longer (2.25 Å) Sn–O bond lengths. There are five inequivalent P5+ sites. In the second Sn3+ site, Sn3+ is bonded to five O2- atoms to form distorted SnO5 trigonal bipyramids that share corners with five PO4 tetrahedra. SnPO4 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one SnPO4 sheet oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Sn3+ is bonded in a rectangular see-saw-like geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.09–2.24 Å. P5+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four O2- atoms. Sn+2.50+ is bonded in a distorted rectangular see-saw-like geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.16–2.37 Å. There are two inequivalent P5+ sites. In the first P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing PO4 tetrahedra. There is two shorter (1.51 Å) and two longer (1.60 Å) P–O bond length. In the second P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.53–1.65 Å. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Sn3(P2O7)2 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. there are two inequivalent Sn+2.67+ sites. In the first Sn+2.67+ site, Sn+2.67+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.18–2.25 Å. In the second Sn+2.67+ site, Sn+2.67+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form SnO6 octahedra that share corners with six PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Sn–O bond distances ranging from 2.04–2.12 Å. There are two inequivalent P5+ sites. In the first P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent SnO6 octahedra and a cornercorner with one PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 34–43°. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.50–1.60 Å. In the second P5+ site, P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one SnO6 octahedra and a cornercorner with one PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 37°. There is three shorter (1.53 Å) and one longer (1.63 Å) P–O bond length. There are seven inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn+2.67+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn+2.67+ and one P5+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Sn+2.67+ and one P5+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a linear geometry to two P5+ atoms. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent SnO6 octahedra and corners with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 42°. There is two shorter (1.51 Å) and two longer (1.61 Å) P–O bond length. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent P5+ atoms.
