Materials Data on Np2N3 by Materials Project
Np2N3 is Spinel-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic Ia-3 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Np+4.50+ sites. In the first Np+4.50+ site, Np+4.50+ is bonded to six equivalent N3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing NpN6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 59°. All Np–N bond lengths are 2.26 Å. In the second Np+4.50+ site, Np+4.50+ is bonded to six equivalent N3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing NpN6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 59–60°. There are two shorter (2.25 Å) and four longer (2.30 Å) Np–N bond lengths. N3- is bonded to four Np+4.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing NNp4 tetrahedra.
