Materials Data on Na3Al4O8 by Materials Project
(Na)3(AlO2)4 crystallizes in the cubic Im-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional and consists of twelve sodium molecules and one AlO2 framework. In the AlO2 framework, Al is bonded to four O atoms to form corner-sharing AlO4 tetrahedra. There is one shorter (1.70 Å) and three longer (1.76 Å) Al–O bond length. There are two inequivalent O sites. In the first O site, O is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Al atoms. In the second O site, O is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Al atoms.
