SANSMIC v.1.0

SAND2024-01036O The updated Sandia Solution Mining Code (SANSMIC) modeling software models the dissolution of underground salt cavern walls due to raw-water injection (leaching), assuming an oil blanket. A previous version of this software modeled the impacts of leaching at the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and has been used in research for several decades, but the source code was not available. The new version will enhance current research as additional subsurface storage of energy in solution-mined caverns increases. It will also allow research reproducibility by making the software available to the wider research community. Sandia National Laboratories is a multimission laboratory managed and operated by National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell International Inc., for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration under contract DE-NA0003525.

Mnemosyne

SAND2024-08570O Mnemosyne is an interactive tool for finding, retrieving, and exploring information about U.S. nuclear tests documented in the National Nuclear Security Administration’s NV-209 report. It also acts as an information architecture and codebase for integrating additional information and computational tools related to these tests at the unclassified and classified levels. Users can search by any number of nuclear test attributes—name, yield range, altitude ranges, purpose of a test—and find all matching tests. Users can also retrieve specific test information published in NV-209. The tool displays geospatial and topological data about test location, and it provides an information architecture for storing additional contextual material, such as photographs. Mnemosyne provides a capability of interfacing with HYCHEM, Sandia's nuclear detonation optical waveform tool. The software is designed for use by government, academia, military, and research institutions. The software will likely be advanced to integrate seismic data and the nuclear detonation optical signal simulation code radCTH. pdas-experiments

SAND2025-04589O pdas-experiments automates computational experiments of fluid flow simulations. It uses the pressio-demoapps-schwarz package as a basis to break down complex simulations into smaller, manageable parts. This application is an extension of the Sandia Pressio software which uses domain decomposition to work with complex simulations more efficiently. Users can test different simulation setups, while keeping a detailed record of their experiments so they can be reproduced later. The software includes a C++ program that runs individual experiments based on user-defined settings in a YAML file, as well as a Python script that can manage multiple simulations at once. GenConfig

SAND2025-04091O GenConfig converts a build name into a set of configuration flags or CMake fragment files for use with CMake. This is accomplished using ConfigKeywordParser and two configuration files. GenConfig is the main tool in a set of software libraries used for generating and configuring an environment and configuration flags.
