IrMn is Tetraauricupride structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mn is bonded to eight equivalent Ir atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, face, and corner-sharing MnIr8 cuboctahedra. All Mn–Ir bond lengths are 2.63 Å. Ir is bonded to eight equivalent Mn atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, face, and corner-sharing IrMn8 cuboctahedra.
IrMn crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mn is bonded to six equivalent Ir atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing MnIr6 cuboctahedra. All Mn–Ir bond lengths are 2.61 Å. Ir is bonded to six equivalent Mn atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing IrMn6 cuboctahedra.
