Materials Data on Mn(CoO3)2 by Materials Project

Mn(CoO3)2 is trigonal omega-derived structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Mn(CoO3)2 sheet oriented in the (2, 0, -1) direction. Mn7+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MnO6 octahedra that share edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra and edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra. There is four shorter (1.93 Å) and two longer (1.94 Å) Mn–O bond length. Co+2.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form CoO6 octahedra that share edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra and edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.88–1.90 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to one Mn7+ and two equivalent Co+2.50+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to two equivalent Mn7+ and one Co+2.50+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Co+2.50+ atoms.

Materials Data on Li3Mn(CoO3)2 by Materials Project

Li3Mn(CoO3)2 is Caswellsilverite-derived structured and crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Li1+ sites. In the first Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–8°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.09–2.28 Å. In the second Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six equivalent LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 6–7°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.10–2.27 Å. Mn2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MnO6 octahedra that share corners with six LiO6 octahedra, edges with six LiO6 octahedra, and edges with six equivalent CoO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 6–8°. There are a spread of Mn–O bond distances ranging from 1.95–2.31 Å. Co+3.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form CoO6 octahedra that share corners with six LiO6 octahedra, edges with three equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with three equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–7°. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.91–2.30 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing OLi3MnCo2 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–1°. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing OLi3MnCo2 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing OLi3MnCo2 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°.

Co+3.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form CoO6 octahedra that share corners with six LiO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–6°. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.93–2.11 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3MnCo2 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to three equivalent Li1+, two equivalent Mn2+, and one Co+3.50+ atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3Mn2Co octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+ and three equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3Co3 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°.

Materials Data on Li2Mn(CoO3)2 by Materials Project

Li2Mn(CoO3)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmce space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Li1+ is bonded in a distorted rectangular see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent O2- atoms. There are two shorter (2.06 Å) and two longer (2.08 Å) Li–O bond lengths. Mn2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MnO6 octahedra that share edges with six equivalent CoO6 octahedra. There is two shorter (1.93 Å) and four longer (1.97 Å) Mn–O bond length. Co4+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form CoO6 octahedra that share edges with three equivalent MnO6 octahedra and edges with three equivalent CoO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.96–2.10 Å. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to one Mn2+ and two equivalent Co4+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to two equivalent Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co4+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing OLi2MnCo2 square pyramids.

Materials Data on Li3Mn(CoO3)2 by Materials Project

Li3Mn(CoO3)2 is Caswellsilverite-derived structured and crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Li1+ sites. In the first Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share a cornercorner with one MnO6 octahedra, corners with five equivalent CoO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–7°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.07–2.26 Å. In the second Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent CoO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 6°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.10–2.21 Å. Mn2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MnO6 octahedra that share corners with six LiO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 6°. There are four shorter (1.96 Å) and two longer (2.27 Å) Mn–O bond lengths. Co+3.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form CoO6 octahedra that share corners with six LiO6 octahedra, edges with two equivalent MnO6 octahedra, edges with four equivalent CoO6 octahedra, and edges with six LiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–7°. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.92–2.25 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded to three equivalent Li1+, one Mn2+, and two equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3MnCo2 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–1°. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+ and three equivalent Co+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3Co3 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–1°. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to three Li1+, two equivalent Mn2+, and one Co+3.50+ atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLi3Mn2Co octahedra.
