Materials Data on MgZnPt2 by Materials Project
MgZnPt2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgZnPt2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.45 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg2+ and one Zn2+ atom. The Pt–Zn bond length is 2.40 Å. Zn2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms.
