Materials Data on MgGaCo2 by Materials Project
MgCo2Ga crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgCo2Ga ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Co atoms. Both Mg–Co bond lengths are 2.67 Å. Co is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg and one Ga atom. The Co–Ga bond length is 2.37 Å. Ga is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Co atoms.
