Materials Data on MgCuPt2 by Materials Project
MgPt2Cu crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgPt2Cu ribbons oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Mg2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.47 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg2+ and one Cu2+ atom. The Pt–Cu bond length is 2.36 Å. Cu2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms.
