Materials Data on Mg3Ge by Materials Project
Mg3Ge crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Ge atoms. There are one shorter (2.78 Å) and two longer (2.86 Å) Mg–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine equivalent Mg atoms.
