SrMg is Tetraauricupride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Mg atoms. All Sr–Mg bond lengths are 3.63 Å. Mg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Sr atoms.

Materials Data on SrMg2 by Materials Project

Mg2Sr is Hexagonal Laves structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sr and twelve Mg atoms. There are three shorter (3.93 Å) and one longer (4.00 Å) Sr–Sr bond lengths. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.75–3.83 Å. There are two inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded to six equivalent Sr and six equivalent Mg atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing MgSr6Mg6 cuboctahedra. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.26 Å. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded to six equivalent Sr and six Mg atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing MgSr6Mg6 cuboctahedra. There are two shorter (3.17 Å) and two longer (3.21 Å) Mg–Mg bond lengths.

Materials Data on Sr6Mg23 by Materials Project

Mg23Sr6 crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve Mg atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.62–3.78 Å. There are four inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to three equivalent Sr and nine Mg atoms. There are a spread of Mg–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.05–3.23 Å. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Mg atoms. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.16 Å. In the third Mg site, Mg is bonded to four equivalent Sr and eight Mg atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing MgSr4Mg8 cuboctahedra. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.26 Å. SrMg3 is alpha bismuth trifluoride structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Sr sites. In the first Sr site, Sr is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to fourteen Mg atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.33–3.85 Å. In the second Sr site, Sr is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to fourteen Mg atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.33–3.85 Å. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded to four equivalent Sr and eight Mg atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, face, and corner-sharing MgSr4Mg8 cuboctahedra. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.10 Å. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sr and six Mg atoms. Both Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.10 Å. In the third Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sr and six Mg atoms. Both Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.10 Å. In the first Sr site, Sr is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Mg atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.52–3.87 Å. In the second Sr site, Sr is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Mg atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Mg bond distances ranging from 3.41–3.92 Å. There are four inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to three Sr and four Mg atoms. There are two shorter (3.05 Å) and two longer (3.25 Å) Mg–Mg bond lengths. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to five Sr and three Mg atoms. The Mg–Mg bond length is 2.99 Å. All Sr–Sr bond lengths are 3.52 Å. All Sr–Mg bond lengths are 3.60 Å. There are three inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sr and three equivalent Mg atoms. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.11 Å. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded to six Mg atoms to form distorted MgMg6 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent SrSr6Mg6 cuboctahedra, corners with six equivalent MgMg6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent MgMg6 cuboctahedra, a faceface with one SrSr6Mg6 cuboctahedra, and a faceface with one MgMg6 cuboctahedra. All Mg–Mg bond lengths are 3.12 Å. In the third Mg site, Mg is bonded to six equivalent Mg atoms to form distorted edge-sharing MgMg6 cuboctahedra.

Sr3Mg crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pmm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Sr sites. In the first Sr site, Sr is bonded to ten Sr and two equivalent Mg atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner, edge, and face-sharing SrSr10Mg2 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Sr–Sr bond distances ranging from 3.89–4.22 Å. Both Sr–Mg bond lengths are 3.90 Å. In the second Sr site, Sr is bonded to eight Sr and four equivalent Mg atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner, edge, and face-sharing SrSr8Mg4 cuboctahedra. There are two shorter (4.01 Å) and two longer (4.22 Å) Sr–Sr bond lengths. All Sr–Mg bond lengths are 3.95 Å. In the third Sr site, Sr is bonded to eight Sr and four equivalent Mg atoms to form distorted SrSr8Mg4 cuboctahedra that share corners with ten equivalent SrSr8Mg4 cuboctahedra, edges with fourteen SrSr10Mg2 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen SrSr10Mg2 cuboctahedra. Both Sr–Sr bond lengths are 4.22 Å. There are two shorter (3.97 Å) and two longer (4.04 Å) Sr–Mg bond lengths. Mg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Sr atoms.
