Materials Data on MgPt by Materials Project

MgPt is alpha-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic P2_13 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg2+ is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Pt2- atoms. There are a spread of Mg–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.67–2.78 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Mg2+ atoms.

Materials Data on Mg2Pt by Materials Project

Mg2Pt crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Pt atoms. All Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.73 Å. Pt is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Mg atoms.

Materials Data on MgPt3 by Materials Project

MgPt3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg2+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Pt+0.67- atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing MgPt12 cuboctahedra. All Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.81 Å. Pt+0.67- is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Mg2+ atoms.

Materials Data on Mg3Pt by Materials Project

Mg3Pt is Sodium arsenide structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Pt atoms. There are one shorter (2.73 Å) and three longer (3.04 Å) Mg–Pt bond lengths. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Pt atoms. All Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.67 Å. Pt is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to eleven Mg atoms.
