Materials Data on LaSbTe by Materials Project

LaSbTe is Matlockite structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/nmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La3+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sb1- and five equivalent Te2- atoms. All La–Sb bond lengths are 3.49 Å. There are four shorter (3.26 Å) and one longer (3.38 Å) La–Te bond lengths. Sb1- is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent La3+ and four equivalent Sb1- atoms. All Sb–Sb bond lengths are 3.13 Å. Te2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent La3+ atoms.

Materials Data on LaSbTe by Materials Project

LaSbTe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La3+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sb1- and five equivalent Te2- atoms. There are a spread of La–Sb bond distances ranging from 3.45–3.54 Å. There are four shorter (3.26 Å) and one longer (3.39 Å) La–Te bond lengths. Sb1- is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent La3+ and four equivalent Sb1- atoms. There are two shorter (2.95 Å) and two longer (3.32 Å) Sb–Sb bond lengths. Te2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent La3+ atoms.

Crystal Growth and Electronic Properties of LaSbSe

The ZrSiS-type materials have gained intensive attentions. The magnetic version of the ZrSiS-type materials, LnSbTe (Ln = Lanthanide), offers great opportunities to explore new quantum states owing to the interplay between magnetism and electronic band topology. Here, we report the growth and characterization of the non-magnetic LaSbSe of this material family. We found the metallic transport, low magnetoresistance and non-compensated charge carriers with relatively low carrier density in LaSbSe. The specific heat measurement has revealed distinct Sommerfeld coefficient and Debye temperature in comparison to LaSbTe. Such addition of a new LnSbSe selenide compound could provide the alternative material choices in addition to LnSbTe telluride materials.
