Materials Data on La3InGe by Materials Project

La3GeIn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Fmm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are ten inequivalent La sites. In the first La site, La is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four In and two equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.22 Å) and two longer (3.98 Å) La–In bond lengths. Both La–Ge bond lengths are 3.13 Å. In the second La site, La is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two equivalent In and two equivalent Ge atoms. Both La–In bond lengths are 3.22 Å. Both La–Ge bond lengths are 3.10 Å. In the third La site, La is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two equivalent In and four Ge atoms. Both La–In bond lengths are 3.92 Å. There are two shorter (3.16 Å) and two longer (3.20 Å) La–Ge bond lengths. In the fourth La site, La is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four In and two equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.22 Å) and two longer (3.99 Å) La–In bond lengths. Both La–Ge bond lengths are 3.12 Å. In the fifth La site, La is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to four In and two Ge atoms. There are a spread of La–In bond distances ranging from 3.38–3.55 Å.
