Materials Data on K2AgBi by Materials Project

K2AgBi crystallizes in the orthorhombic C222_1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. K is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ag and four equivalent Bi atoms. There are a spread of K–Ag bond distances ranging from 3.86–4.10 Å. There are a spread of K–Bi bond distances ranging from 3.66–3.81 Å. Ag is bonded to eight equivalent K, two equivalent Ag, and two equivalent Bi atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing AgK8Ag2Bi2 cuboctahedra. Both Ag–Ag bond lengths are 3.24 Å. Both Ag–Bi bond lengths are 2.82 Å. Bi is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent K and two equivalent Ag atoms.
