Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX) - Workflow Design - Rev 1

This workflow design document describes the process of establishing a Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX) Connection between two or more UUDEX Endpoints. The existing processes required to establish a data link using Inter Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) are very time consuming, from both the perspectives of effort and calendar time. The intent of UUDEX is to provide a more streamlined alternative. The UUDEX Workflow is also used to establish UUDEX Connections to exchange data other than that found in traditional ICCP data exchanges such as exchanges of power system model files, security events and mitigations, disturbance reports, and market data.

X-ray Computed Tomography Data of Dense Metallic Components

The data shared in here are X-ray computed tomography (XCT) scans of a hexagonal fuel nozzle in 3 sections with the Metrotom 800 system at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The data are used in the paper "Tomographic Sparse View Selection using the View Covariance Loss, by Lin et al. (doi:10.1109/TPAMI.2025.36000720), accepted to the international conference on computational imaging (ICCP 2025). Figures 4-7 in the paper describe the part/XCT scan. File name Descriptions: Bottom section: TCR- Single Channeled SRC L 2019-3-18 12-26-41.hdf5 Medium section: TCR- Single Channeled SRC M 2019-3-18 13-8-9.hdf5 Top section: TCR- Single Channeled SRC T 2019-3-18 13-45-39.hdf5 Each hdf5 file contains projection data, and all the relevant X-ray CT scan setting. The full list of included attributes: distance_unit: Units of all distances specified angle_unit : Units of the angles angles: Array of all angles used voxel_size_xy: Baseline recon (if any) has this voxel size in the in-plane direction voxel_size_z: Baseline recon (if any) has this voxel size in the cross-plane direction det_pixel_size_col: Size of the detector pixels in the column dimension det_pixel_size_row: Size of the detector pixels in the row dimension src_iso_dist: Source to iso-center distance iso_det_dist: Iso-center to detector distance det_angle: If the detector is rotated/tilted, this angle corresponds to that value det_row_offset: Center of rotation offset in the vertical direction det_col_offset: Center of rotation offset in the horizontal direction reconstruction: A baseline reconstruction stored as 3D array BHC params: Beam-hardening parameters - Van De Casteel Model - if it has been used to pre-process the projections We also provided a python script (hdf_io.py) that allows the user to read the relevant data from each hdf5 file.

A Storm Surge and Inundation Model of the Back River Watershed at NASA Langley Research Center

This report on a Virginia Institute for Marine Science project demonstrates that the sub-grid modeling technology (now as part of Chesapeake Bay Inundation Prediction System, CIPS) can incorporate high-resolution Lidar measurements provided by NASA Langley Research Center into the sub-grid model framework to resolve detailed topographic features for use as a hydrological transport model for run-off simulations within NASA Langley and Langley Air Force Base. The rainfall over land accumulates in the ditches/channels resolved via the model sub-grid was tested to simulate the run-off induced by heavy precipitation. Possessing both the capabilities for storm surge and run-off simulations, the CIPS model was then applied to simulate real storm events starting with Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It will be shown that the model can generate highly accurate on-land inundation maps as demonstrated by excellent comparison of the Langley tidal gauge time series data (CAPABLE.larc.nasa.gov) and spatial patterns of real storm wrack line measurements with the model results simulated during Hurricanes Isabel (2003), Irene (2011), and a 2009 Nor'easter. With confidence built upon the model's performance, sea level rise scenarios from the ICCP (International Climate Change Partnership) were also included in the model scenario runs to simulate future inundation cases.

Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX) – Protocol Design - Rev 1

This design document describes protocol related aspects of Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX). The focus of the design is to describe the interactions between UUDEX Clients and UUDEX Servers in the UUDEX Infrastructure. This design is purposely transport and programming language agnostic.

Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX) Functional Design Requirements - Rev 1

This document provides a set of high-level functional design requirements for Universal Utility Data Exchange (UUDEX). These requirements include a set of use cases, data exchanges supported by UUDEX, both for grid operations and for cyber security data, functional requirements for data exchange, data models used by UUDEX, data exchange architectures, and security considerations. These functional design requirements are intended to be used in more detailed design documents.
