Materials Data on Hg2Pt by Materials Project
PtHg2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt2- is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Hg1+ atoms. All Pt–Hg bond lengths are 2.84 Å. Hg1+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Pt2- atoms.
