Li2HgZn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Li2HgZn ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a linear geometry to one Hg and one Zn atom. The Li–Hg bond length is 2.82 Å. The Li–Zn bond length is 2.79 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms. Zn is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Li atoms.
LiHg2Zn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two LiHg2Zn ribbons oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Li is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Li–Hg bond lengths are 2.74 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to one Li and one Zn atom. The Hg–Zn bond length is 2.83 Å. Zn is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms.
