Materials Data on LaYHg2 by Materials Project
LaYHg2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two LaYHg2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. La is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both La–Hg bond lengths are 3.12 Å. Y is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Y–Hg bond lengths are 3.02 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to one La and one Y atom.
