Materials Data on HfMgHg2 by Materials Project
MgHfHg2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgHfHg2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Mg–Hg bond lengths are 2.90 Å. Hf is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Hf–Hg bond lengths are 2.89 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg and one Hf atom.
