Materials Data on U(GePt)2 by Materials Project

U(PtGe)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Pt and eight equivalent Ge atoms. All U–Pt bond lengths are 3.30 Å. All U–Ge bond lengths are 3.32 Å. Pt is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent U and four equivalent Ge atoms. All Pt–Ge bond lengths are 2.53 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent U, four equivalent Pt, and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.42 Å.

Materials Data on UGePt by Materials Project

UPtGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.03 Å) and four longer (3.08 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. There are four shorter (3.10 Å) and two longer (3.25 Å) U–Ge bond lengths. In the second U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (3.14 Å) and four longer (3.17 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. All U–Ge bond lengths are 3.06 Å. Pt is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six U, one Pt, and three equivalent Ge atoms. The Pt–Pt bond length is 2.98 Å. There are two shorter (2.55 Å) and one longer (2.56 Å) Pt–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to six U and three equivalent Pt atoms.

Materials Data on UGePt by Materials Project

UPtGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of U–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.94–3.25 Å. There are a spread of U–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.07–3.24 Å. Pt is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent U and four equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Pt–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.58–2.77 Å. Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent U and four equivalent Pt atoms.

Materials Data on U(GePt)2 by Materials Project

U(PtGe)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/nmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to eight Pt and eight Ge atoms. There are four shorter (3.28 Å) and four longer (3.33 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. There are four shorter (3.26 Å) and four longer (3.33 Å) U–Ge bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded to four equivalent U and four equivalent Ge atoms to form distorted PtU4Ge4 tetrahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent GeU4Pt4 tetrahedra, edges with two equivalent GeU4Pt4 tetrahedra, edges with four equivalent PtU4Ge4 tetrahedra, and faces with four equivalent PtU4Ge4 tetrahedra. All Pt–Ge bond lengths are 2.55 Å. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent U and five Ge atoms. There are one shorter (2.41 Å) and four longer (2.51 Å) Pt–Ge bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded to four equivalent U and four equivalent Pt atoms to form distorted GeU4Pt4 tetrahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent PtU4Ge4 tetrahedra, edges with two equivalent PtU4Ge4 tetrahedra, edges with four equivalent GeU4Pt4 tetrahedra, and faces with four equivalent GeU4Pt4 tetrahedra. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent U and five Pt atoms.

Materials Data on U(Ge3Pt)4 by Materials Project

U(PtGe3)4 crystallizes in the cubic Im-3 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded to twelve equivalent Ge atoms to form UGe12 cuboctahedra that share faces with eight equivalent PtGe6 octahedra. All U–Ge bond lengths are 3.33 Å. Pt is bonded to six equivalent Ge atoms to form PtGe6 octahedra that share corners with six equivalent PtGe6 octahedra and faces with two equivalent UGe12 cuboctahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 59°. All Pt–Ge bond lengths are 2.51 Å. Ge is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one U, two equivalent Pt, and two equivalent Ge atoms. There are one shorter (2.58 Å) and one longer (2.62 Å) Ge–Ge bond lengths.
