Materials Data on GdYCu4 by Materials Project
GdYCu4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve Cu atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Cu bond distances ranging from 2.99–3.17 Å. Y is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve Cu atoms. There are a spread of Y–Cu bond distances ranging from 2.99–3.17 Å. There are two inequivalent Cu sites. In the first Cu site, Cu is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Gd, three equivalent Y, and four Cu atoms. There are a spread of Cu–Cu bond distances ranging from 2.51–2.78 Å. In the second Cu site, Cu is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Gd, three equivalent Y, and four Cu atoms. The Cu–Cu bond length is 2.78 Å.
