Materials Data on Ga3Pt by Materials Project
Ga3Pt is alpha bismuth trifluoride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to fourteen Ga atoms. There are eight shorter (2.80 Å) and six longer (3.24 Å) Pt–Ga bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Ga sites. In the first Ga site, Ga is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Pt and four equivalent Ga atoms. All Ga–Ga bond lengths are 2.80 Å. In the second Ga site, Ga is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and eight equivalent Ga atoms.
