Materials Data on NdGa3 by Materials Project
NdGa3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Nd is bonded to twelve equivalent Ga atoms to form a mixture of distorted face and corner-sharing NdGa12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.14 Å) and six longer (3.24 Å) Nd–Ga bond lengths. Ga is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Nd and six equivalent Ga atoms. There are two shorter (2.78 Å) and four longer (2.81 Å) Ga–Ga bond lengths.
