Li3Mg2Fe19O32 is Spinel-derived structured and crystallizes in the triclinic P1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Li1+ sites. In the first Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with four FeO4 tetrahedra, and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.11–2.13 Å. In the second Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with six FeO4 tetrahedra and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.10–2.13 Å. In the third Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share a cornercorner with one MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with five FeO4 tetrahedra, and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.09–2.18 Å. There are two inequivalent Mg2+ sites. In the first Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form MgO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one LiO6 octahedra and corners with eleven FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 55–62°. There are a spread of Mg–O bond distances ranging from 1.96–2.03 Å. In the second Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form MgO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent LiO6 octahedra and corners with ten FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 53–61°. There are a spread of Mg–O bond distances ranging from 1.96–2.04 Å. There are nineteen inequivalent Fe3+ sites. In the first Fe3+ site, Fe3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with three MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with three FeO4 tetrahedra, and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.02–2.09 Å. In the second Fe3+ site, Fe3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with three equivalent MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with three equivalent FeO4 tetrahedra, an edgeedge with one LiO6 octahedra, and edges with five FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.01–2.08 Å. In the third Fe3+ site, Fe3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form FeO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one LiO6 octahedra and corners with eleven FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 55–63°. There is one shorter (1.88 Å) and three longer (1.98 Å) Fe–O bond length. In the fourth Fe3+ site, Fe3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with three MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with three FeO4 tetrahedra, and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.03–2.08 Å. In the fifth Fe3+ site, Fe3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with three MgO4 tetrahedra, corners with three FeO4 tetrahedra, and edges with six FeO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.03–2.08 Å. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are four shorter (2.16 Å) and two longer (2.22 Å) Li–O bond lengths. There are eight inequivalent Mg2+ sites. In the first Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent FeO6 octahedra, corners with four MgO6 octahedra, and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. LiMg30FeO32 is alpha Po-derived structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with six MgO6 octahedra and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are two shorter (2.17 Å) and four longer (2.20 Å) Li–O bond lengths. There are eight inequivalent Mg2+ sites. In the first Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent LiO6 octahedra, corners with two equivalent MgO6 octahedra, corners with two equivalent FeO6 octahedra, and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are a spread of Mg–O bond distances ranging from 2.04–2.24 Å. In the second Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent FeO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent MgO6 octahedra, and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are four shorter (2.10 Å) and two longer (2.18 Å) Mg–O bond lengths. In the third Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are two shorter (2.11 Å) and four longer (2.14 Å) Mg–O bond lengths. In the fourth Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent LiO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent MgO6 octahedra, and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are two shorter (2.08 Å) and four longer (2.14 Å) Mg–O bond lengths. In the fifth Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with six MgO6 octahedra, an edgeedge with one LiO6 octahedra, an edgeedge with one FeO6 octahedra, and edges with ten MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 2–8°. There are a spread of Mg–O bond distances ranging from 2.09–2.17 Å. In the sixth Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 1–2°. There are two shorter (2.11 Å) and four longer (2.13 Å) Mg–O bond lengths. In the seventh Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with six MgO6 octahedra, an edgeedge with one FeO6 octahedra, and edges with eleven MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 1–7°. There are four shorter (2.12 Å) and two longer (2.13 Å) Mg–O bond lengths. In the eighth Mg2+ site, Mg2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form MgO6 octahedra that share corners with six MgO6 octahedra, an edgeedge with one LiO6 octahedra, and edges with eleven MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–6°. There are a spread of Mg–O bond distances ranging from 2.09–2.15 Å. Fe3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with six MgO6 octahedra and edges with twelve MgO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are four shorter (2.00 Å) and two longer (2.07 Å) Fe–O bond lengths. There are seventeen inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded to five Mg2+ and one Fe3+ atom to form OMg5Fe octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form OMg6 octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to one Li1+ and five Mg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OLiMg5 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form OMg6 octahedra that share corners with six equivalent OMg6 octahedra and edges with twelve OMg5Fe octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 1–3°. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded to five Mg2+ and one Fe3+ atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg5Fe octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. In the sixth O2- site, O2- is bonded to one Li1+ and five Mg2+ atoms to form OLiMg5 octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. The O–Mg bond length is 2.04 Å. In the seventh O2- site, O2- is bonded to one Li1+ and five Mg2+ atoms to form OLiMg5 octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. There are a spread of O–Mg bond distances ranging from 2.04–2.11 Å. In the eighth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. In the ninth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. There are two shorter (2.12 Å) and two longer (2.13 Å) O–Mg bond lengths. In the tenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form OMg6 octahedra that share corners with six OLiMg5 octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. The O–Mg bond length is 2.11 Å. In the eleventh O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form OMg6 octahedra that share corners with six OLiMg5 octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. There are two shorter (2.11 Å) and two longer (2.15 Å) O–Mg bond lengths. In the twelfth O2- site, O2- is bonded to five Mg2+ and one Fe3+ atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg5Fe octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. There are two shorter (2.13 Å) and one longer (2.24 Å) O–Mg bond lengths. In the thirteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to one Li1+ and five Mg2+ atoms to form OLiMg5 octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. Both O–Mg bond lengths are 2.11 Å. In the fourteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to one Li1+ and five Mg2+ atoms to form OLiMg5 octahedra that share corners with six OMg5Fe octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–8°. There are two shorter (2.09 Å) and two longer (2.11 Å) O–Mg bond lengths. In the fifteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. There are two shorter (2.12 Å) and one longer (2.14 Å) O–Mg bond lengths. In the sixteenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form OMg6 octahedra that share corners with six OLiMg5 octahedra and edges with twelve OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. Both O–Mg bond lengths are 2.15 Å. In the seventeenth O2- site, O2- is bonded to six Mg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OMg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–4°. There are a spread of O–Mg bond distances ranging from 2.12–2.14 Å.
