Materials Data on PtF6 by Materials Project

PtF6 is beta Np structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of four PtF6 clusters. Pt6+ is bonded in an octahedral geometry to six F1- atoms. All Pt–F bond lengths are 1.90 Å. There are four inequivalent F1- sites. In the first F1- site, F1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Pt6+ atom. In the second F1- site, F1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Pt6+ atom. In the third F1- site, F1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Pt6+ atom. In the fourth F1- site, F1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Pt6+ atom.

Materials Data on PtF4 by Materials Project

PtF4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Fdd2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt4+ is bonded to six F1- atoms to form corner-sharing PtF6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 50°. There are a spread of Pt–F bond distances ranging from 1.90–2.08 Å. There are two inequivalent F1- sites. In the first F1- site, F1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Pt4+ atom. In the second F1- site, F1- is bonded in a bent 120 degrees geometry to two equivalent Pt4+ atoms.

Materials Data on Pt3F by Materials Project

PtPt2F is alpha bismuth trifluoride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional and consists of four platinum black molecules and one Pt2F framework. In the Pt2F framework, Pt+0.33+ is bonded to four equivalent F1- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing PtF4 tetrahedra. All Pt–F bond lengths are 2.68 Å. F1- is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Pt+0.33+ atoms.
