EuIrP crystallizes in the cubic P2_13 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ir and four equivalent P atoms. There are one shorter (3.25 Å) and three longer (3.26 Å) Eu–Ir bond lengths. There are one shorter (3.04 Å) and three longer (3.15 Å) Eu–P bond lengths. Ir is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Eu and three equivalent P atoms. All Ir–P bond lengths are 2.28 Å. P is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Eu and three equivalent Ir atoms.
