Materials Data on EuGe by Materials Project

EuGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Eu–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.20–3.33 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Eu and two equivalent Ge atoms. Both Ge–Ge bond lengths are 2.63 Å.

Materials Data on EuGe3 by Materials Project

EuGe3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded to twelve equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing EuGe12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.15 Å) and six longer (3.31 Å) Eu–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Eu and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (2.66 Å) and four longer (2.99 Å) Ge–Ge bond lengths.

Eu3Ge5 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of twelve europium molecules and twenty germanium molecules.

Materials Data on Eu2Ge by Materials Project

Eu2Ge is Cotunnite structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Eu sites. In the first Eu site, Eu is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Eu–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.16–3.69 Å. In the second Eu site, Eu is bonded to four equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing EuGe4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Eu–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.07–3.14 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Eu atoms.

Materials Data on EuGe2 by Materials Project

EuGe2 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one EuGe2 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Eu is bonded in a hexagonal planar geometry to six equivalent Ge atoms. There are four shorter (2.96 Å) and two longer (2.97 Å) Eu–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Eu atoms.

Materials Data on Eu5Ge3 by Materials Project

Eu5Ge3 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Eu sites. In the first Eu site, Eu is bonded to five Ge atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, face, and corner-sharing EuGe5 trigonal bipyramids. There are a spread of Eu–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.19–3.32 Å. In the second Eu site, Eu is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to six Ge atoms. There are four shorter (3.17 Å) and two longer (3.77 Å) Eu–Ge bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to eight Eu and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.59 Å. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Eu atoms.
