RC-SFA Data Management Templates and Guidance for Standardized, Reusable AI-Ready Data Packages

This data package provides templates and supporting documentation developed by the River Corridor Science Focus Area (RC-SFA; https://www.pnnl.gov/projects/river-corridor) to communicate its approach to managing and publishing AI-ready data. The package is intended to help data users and data producers understand the structures, metadata practices, and quality-control approaches that support consistent, reusable, and machine-actionable data products across RC-SFA studies. Rather than focusing on a single experimental dataset, this package documents the data management framework used to make RC-SFA data easier to find, ingest, navigate, and interpret. The materials in this package reflect RC-SFA practices for standardized data package organization, including the use of a human- and machine-readable README, file-level metadata, data dictionaries, descriptive file naming, method identifiers, and automated and review-based quality assurance procedures. Together, these components illustrate how RC-SFA extends FAIR data principles toward AI-readiness by prioritizing deep metadata, consistency across data packages, and support for informed downstream reuse by both humans and computational tools. This dataset is comprised of (1) readme; (2) presentation slides with an overview of RC-SFA approach and guidance; (3) document of RC-SFA best practices; (4) data dictionary (dd); (5) file level metadata (flmd); and a subfolder containing templates for dd and flmd. All files are .csv and .pdf. For details on how to navigate data packages generated by this project, see https://data.ess-dive.lbl.gov/portals/PNNLRiverCorridorSFA/About.

Geochemical data package for performance assessment calculations related to the Savannah River Site

The Savannah River Site (SRS) disposes of low-level radioactive waste (LLW) and stabilizes high-level radioactive waste (HLW) tanks in the subsurface environment. Calculations used to establish the radiological limits of these facilities are referred to as Performance Assessments (PAs), Special Analyses (SAs), and Composite Analyses (CAs). The purpose of this document is to revise the existing geochemical data package used for these calculations (Kaplan, 2016). This work builds on earlier compilations of geochemical data, referred to a geochemical data packages (Kaplan, 2007; Kaplan, 2010; Kaplan, 2016; McDowell-Boyer et al., 2000). This work is being conducted as part of the on-going maintenance program of the SRS PA programs that periodically updates calculations and data packages when new information becomes available.

A summary of the mechanical properties data developed in FY 2023 by ANL, INL and ORNL to support the data package development for the A709 Code Case

This report provides the status of tensile, creep, fatigue, and creep-fatigue testing to date conducted at Argonne National Laboratory, Idaho National Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to generate the data package required to qualify Alloy 709 in American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 5. The Division 5 Class A Alloy 709 Code Case requires data generated from a minimum of three commercial heats. Extensive mechanical properties data have been generated on two commercial heats, and some initial test data have been generated from the third commercial heat. The room temperature tensile test results for the three commercial heats met the specification minimum of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section II, Part A, SA-213/SA-213M for Grade TP310MoCbN (UNS S31025) seamless tubing. These three commercial heats of Alloy 709 are suitable for generating the code case data.

Multi-omics data resource: Data package 22 (Pck022)

In type 1 diabetes (T1D), autoimmune response and inflammation cause the death of pancreatic ß cells, leading to the body’s inability to produce insulin and maintain glucose homeostasis. This process is at least in part mediated by pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interferon (IFN)a, IFN?, interleukin (IL)-1ß, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)a, which induce ß-cell dysfunction and apoptosis. A deep understanding of the ß-cell signaling and regulatory networks induced by these cytokines could lead to the identification of therapeutic targets to prevent T1D development. To study cytokine-mediated islets/ß-cell signaling and regulatory networks, a variety of omics experiments have been conducted, including transcriptomics, epigenomics (DNA methylation, UMI-4C, ATAC-seq & ChIP-seq), proteomics (bottom-up, top-down, post-translational modification analysis), lipidomics, and metabolomics. The combination of these datasets can be instrumental in identifying signaling components and regulatory factors involved in ß-cell stress/death. Here, we aggregated these multiple omics datasets into a centralized location, providing a quality-controlled and statistically rigorous resource for investigators seeking to holistically study ß-cell regulation by pro-inflammatory cytokines. The data package consists of isolated pancreatic islets from adult male C57BL6/J mice treated with IL-1β, IFNγ or IL-1β + IFNγ for 6 h and submitted for scRNA-seq. This study focused on understanding the heterogeneity of the cytokine-mediated response. Wedding Cake Experiments Design and Data Packages (V.2)

This report documents the design and data for four related experiments known as the Wedding Cake shots. It is a revised version of LA-UR-17-28352. The basic designs of these four shots are the same. A high-explosive plane-wave lens launches a flyer towards an acceptor material with a smaller diameter. This acceptor is either another piece of high-explosive or a piece of polyethylene. A detonation or shock wave propagates through this material and launches a second flyer. The velocities of both flyers are recorded using Photon Doppler Velocimetry (PDV). The overall shape of the shots is reminiscent of a tiered wedding cake and, consequently, these shots are know as the Wedding Cake shots. Details of the shot assembly are shown in the Wedding Cake Assembly Drawing and component drawings that accompany this report.

HDG-1 Graphite Preirradiation Data Package Report

This report documents all pre-irradiation examination material-property measurement data for graphite specimens that are going to be used within the first high dose graphite (HDG) -1 irradiation capsule. The two new HDG capsules signify a major change to the AGC Experiment. HDG-1 and HDG-2 will replace the last two Advanced Graphite Creep (AGC) capsules (AGC-5 and AGC-6) which were designed to irradiate graphite at the extreme upper operational temperatures for a very-high-temperature reactor (VHTR) design, 1100°C. These very high temperature AGC-5 and AGC-6 capsules have been repurposed to re-irradiated specimens (from AGC-2, AGC-3, and AGC-4) at the lower temperatures of 600°C and 800°C. HDG-1 will be irradiated at 600°C and HDG-2 will be irradiated at 800°C. By re-irradiating the previous AGC specimens a total maximum neutron dose of around 15 dpa (displacements per atom) can be achieved for all major graphite grades at irradiation temperatures of 600°C and 800°C. Specimens in the HDG-1 capsule are made up of previously irradiated specimens from the AGC-2 capsule and unirradiated specimens prepared for the now discontinued AGC-5 capsule. Utilizing the irradiated specimens, a maximum neutron dose of around 15 dpa is anticipated. These new maximum dose levels will provide irradiated material property data over a total neutron dose range of 1-15 dpa at a temperature of 600°C when combined with the previous AGC-1 and AGC-2 irradiation data. This will provide quantitative data necessary for predicting the irradiation behavior and operating performance of new nuclear graphite grades for use within high temperature reactor designs. Similar to previous AGC test trains, HDG-1 includes the major graphite grades (IG-110, NBG-17, NBG-18, PCEA, and 2114) as well as adding the very fine-grain grade IG-430 which is of interest to the Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) designs. Also new to the HDG-1 capsule are 90 smaller geometry specimens designated as pencil specimens. These specimens take up only one third the space of a standard creep size specimen. This increased number of specimens will enhance property measurement statistics because they will provide 3 times the control specimen data at a position that would otherwise only have a single measurement.
