MgPd2Cu crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgPd2Cu ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pd atoms. Both Mg–Pd bond lengths are 2.50 Å. Pd is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg and one Cu atom. The Pd–Cu bond length is 2.39 Å. Cu is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pd atoms.
Mg2PdCu crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Mg2PdCu ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg is bonded in a linear geometry to one Pd and one Cu atom. The Mg–Pd bond length is 2.45 Å. The Mg–Cu bond length is 2.53 Å. Pd is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Mg atoms. Cu is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Mg atoms.
