Effect of temperature on hardness of Cr-Re alloys in range 0 to 40 atomic percent Re
Reduction of ductile-to-brittle transition temperature for unalloyed chromium achieved in alloys resembling Cr-Re system
CrRe3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cr is bonded to twelve equivalent Re atoms to form CrRe12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CrRe12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent CrRe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra. All Cr–Re bond lengths are 2.73 Å. Re is bonded to four equivalent Cr and eight equivalent Re atoms to form ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CrRe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CrRe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent ReCr4Re8 cuboctahedra. All Re–Re bond lengths are 2.73 Å.
