Materials Data on Yb(CoGe)2 by Materials Project

Yb(CoGe)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Co and eight equivalent Ge atoms. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.24 Å. All Yb–Ge bond lengths are 3.09 Å. Co is bonded to four equivalent Yb and four equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, corner, and face-sharing CoYb4Ge4 tetrahedra. All Co–Ge bond lengths are 2.33 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Yb, four equivalent Co, and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.66 Å.

Materials Data on Yb3Co4Ge13 by Materials Project

Yb3Co4Ge13 crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3n space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and twelve equivalent Ge atoms. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.12 Å. There are four shorter (3.10 Å) and eight longer (3.12 Å) Yb–Ge bond lengths. Co is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Yb and six equivalent Ge atoms. All Co–Ge bond lengths are 2.41 Å. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Yb, two equivalent Co, and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.98 Å. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a cuboctahedral geometry to twelve equivalent Ge atoms.

Materials Data on YbCoGe2 by Materials Project

YbCoGe2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and ten Ge atoms. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.18 Å. There are a spread of Yb–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.13–3.32 Å. Co is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Yb and five Ge atoms. There are a spread of Co–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.28–2.40 Å. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Yb, one Co, and two equivalent Ge atoms. Both Ge–Ge bond lengths are 2.55 Å. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Yb and four equivalent Co atoms.

Materials Data on YbCoGe by Materials Project

YbCoGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Yb–Co bond distances ranging from 2.84–2.98 Å. There are a spread of Yb–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.98–3.10 Å. Co is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Yb and four equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Co–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.41–2.48 Å. Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Yb and four equivalent Co atoms.

Materials Data on Yb(Co2Ge)2 by Materials Project

YbCo4Ge2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_2/mnm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Yb is bonded to six equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing YbGe6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 39°. There are two shorter (2.86 Å) and four longer (2.94 Å) Yb–Ge bond lengths. Co is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ge atoms. All Co–Ge bond lengths are 2.41 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Yb and six equivalent Co atoms.

Materials Data on Yb5(Co2Ge5)2 by Materials Project

Yb5Co4Ge10 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mbm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Yb sites. In the first Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and twelve Ge atoms. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.15 Å. There are eight shorter (2.96 Å) and four longer (3.13 Å) Yb–Ge bond lengths. In the second Yb site, Yb is bonded to four equivalent Co and eight Ge atoms to form distorted face-sharing YbCo4Ge8 cuboctahedra. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.05 Å. There are a spread of Yb–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.87–3.04 Å. In the third Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and ten Ge atoms. All Yb–Co bond lengths are 3.28 Å. There are a spread of Yb–Ge bond distances ranging from 3.15–3.34 Å. Co is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to five Yb and five Ge atoms. There are a spread of Co–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.35–2.46 Å. There are three inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six Yb, two equivalent Co, and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.50 Å. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to five Yb, two equivalent Co, and three Ge atoms. There are one shorter (2.80 Å) and two longer (2.94 Å) Ge–Ge bond lengths. In the third Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four Yb, two equivalent Co, and four Ge atoms. Both Ge–Ge bond lengths are 2.94 Å.
