Materials Data on SrICl by Materials Project

SrClI crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr2+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent I1- and four equivalent Cl1- atoms. There are two shorter (3.42 Å) and two longer (3.51 Å) Sr–I bond lengths. There are a spread of Sr–Cl bond distances ranging from 2.95–3.58 Å. I1- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sr2+ atoms. Cl1- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sr2+ atoms.
