Materials Data on Ce2YSi2 by Materials Project
Ce2YSi2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mbm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Si atoms. There are two shorter (3.07 Å) and four longer (3.14 Å) Ce–Si bond lengths. Y is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Si atoms. All Y–Si bond lengths are 3.04 Å. Si is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ce, two equivalent Y, and one Si atom. The Si–Si bond length is 2.45 Å.
