Materials Data on CdH8(NO5)2 by Materials Project

CdH4(NO5)2(H2)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Fdd2 space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of sixteen dihydrogen molecules and eight CdH4(NO5)2 clusters. In each CdH4(NO5)2 cluster, Cd2+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Cd–O bond distances ranging from 2.23–2.81 Å. N5+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of N–O bond distances ranging from 1.22–1.50 Å. There are two inequivalent H1+ sites. In the first H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.98 Å. In the second H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.98 Å. There are five inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one N5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Cd2+ and one O2- atom. The O–O bond length is 1.38 Å. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted water-like geometry to one Cd2+ and two H1+ atoms. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Cd2+ and one N5+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one N5+ and one O2- atom.
